I am need of a mandarin hen --- coon pulled mine thru the wire

and my male is beside himself - so sad - he keeps calling for her.

I also have a pair of breeding midnight black shoulder peafowl. They will be 3 this next breeding season.

Hello all. I live in Wynne Ar. I have 2 horses, 2 buff orpington roosters, 7 buff orpington hens (I need more), 2 rat terriers (one is 15).
I seen where some people mentioned the Beebe market. I was wondering if anyone went and what they thought? I've been thinking of going. Is there any other places to buy good hens? Thanks

Hey, Amanda, Sorry about your duck. Coons are so nasty.

I got five eggs from you at the Meetup. One got broken in the nest and now the others are covered in egg. Do you think they will still hatch? I candled and saw some veins; I think in all four.

yes - they should still hatch - I have had the same thing happen - if it is really bad a warm washcloth or soft sandpaper can get it off.

I didn't know you could wash them when they're developing. I think they will be all right without it. We'll see. Sister Silkie lets me mess with them, but she gives me very unapproving looks!

well I prefer to leave them alone but have washed them off with a lightly damp cloth before.

I had to take DH to hospital today(2hrs one way), he was trying to get an abscess cleared up before getting a stent, but couldn't stand being short of breath, so he called the doc and make arrangements to go in today and start on IV antibiotics and have the stent put in tomorrow. So I have to go back up tomorrow and will be staying the night.

Did someone here get ducks and chicks in Texarkana? I was n the post office thre today and heard that unmistakable peeping and asked the clerk about them. She went to get one of the boxes and I saw several ducklings in there. Just wondering if it was one of us.
