LOL Jen! Love it! Yesterday while driving to work, I saw a tulip tree in full bloom! That the surest sign of spring. Wewtie!

I have a day early pipper in my bator. These eggs are from the February swap and even though my partner won't tell me what they are, I'm pretty sure they're buff orps and black australorps!

My brooder is full of stripey little jailbirds!!! I'm gonna name the biggest cockerel "Jailbird" and keep him, the other boys will have to go.
Got 3 Dominique chicks (hopefully a trio) and a new Cuckoo Maran pullet today.

Spring really is sprung! I got 10 eggs today! All these little banty eggs look just alike. I couldn't tell who was laying, but I guess now I know they pretty much all are, except the Moderns. I'm lucky to get one Modern egg a week.

The Meetup was fun. I came home with two Blue Laced Red Wyandotte chicks, sexed by Mona. We kept her busy showing us how to vent sex the chicks today. don't know if she has a guarantee or not.

If I put the nest boxes outside under an extended roofline will they be moderately safe from the field rats chipmunks and squirrels that have such nice coats from eating my eggs. And how High off the ground should they be? If I can I'll upload some construction pics as I go and welcome any suggestions that might come to mind. Thanks In advance

What a wonderful meetup! I hate that I had to disappear so quick, but DH had somewhere he needed to be at 3:00.
I got a new serama lady bird from Amanda! She's been named Mandee. A cross between Amanda and De *hehe* Two very sweet ladies.
She's was a little scared at first and made a lot of noise, but I brought her out and cuddled and petted. She calmed right down and started to purr.
She's been in my lap most of the night. Tomorrow I'll slowly start to introduce her to Rohaus and Molly.

And I just had a little black australorp hatch!! Pretty sure that's what it is!

I wanted to take one of those boxes full of cute home after the meet up! The chicks up there were adorable. And I think Zach is slowly coming down with the chicken bug.
