Arkansas folks speak up.........

Half price feed!

Did I get your attention. I was in Atwoods last night and mentioned to the manager that I wished the Atwoods Baby chick feed came in 50# bags instead of 25#. Its $9+ and the Nutrena 50# is over $20. The manager said that they seem to sell more if its in 25# bags. Also that the chick feed would be on sale in a few weeks when their fall chicks arrive.

Then he checked the bag dates and offered me 2 bags of Nutrena chick starter for $10 per bag. 100# of chick starter for $20!

I would suggest you ask your feed store manager if he will contact you when he has feed going out of date and will sale at a discount.

We have stored feed we custom made, without preservatives, for several years. As long as its dry and rodent/bug free it should be safe to feed. I will start looking for these unadvertised special every time I go buy feed!

Oh, did I mention Atwoods is having ........

FALL CHICK DAYS!!!!!!

Hello, everyone. Haven't been on in a while. My mother found a replacement for her burned jeep. And we got a tip the dogs were dropped off near sheridan.

I found a puppy that was dropped off at the end of my sister's road. The dog tore apart my Blue D'Uccle. Now I am missing 3 bantam chicks, my White and Black Tailed HEN, plus Pup went after my ROYAL PALM turkey. So I haven't really wanted to face anything chickens for a while. Looking for a new home for this puppy. If anyone has friends with no chickens that want a Black and White Pit? Puppy let me know! lol

I am not getting any info/ideas from the egglaying forum, so maybe you guys have an idea.

Came home to this cute little egg but have no idea who layed it for me. We have 10 sex-link hens, 3 Salmon Fav. pullets, 1 Araucana pullet and 1 Mottled Houdan pullet. Pullets are almost 19 weeks so I am expecting some "new" eggs but not this color. Any ideas?
