from Batesville. I live about 2hrs west of you, and I do have chickens, but none for sell. I got mine from our local feed stores, but I did get my ee's and polish from Ideal Poultry. My feed store ordered them for me...maybe see if they can do that for you? Doing it that way I didnt have to pay shipping, I do know that poultry farms do have (sometimes) started pullets that are about to lay or laying for sale.

Or maybe try asking your local feed stores, looking in the paper, asking friends or family if they know of anyone that has some around you. I am very happy with the Ideal Poultry that I got...that is the only time that I ordered from a big operation like them. I'm sure your local feed stores, tractor supply, etc will know of people that have birds/eggs for sale. I plan on selling fertilized eggs/birds next spring...subscribe to this thread, you will defentally be kept in the loop. This thread is AWSOME!!!!!!!!!! Good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyone have facts about the person who brought a bird with fowl pox to the drew county fair? i stepped in on a conversation today and a group people were discussing the matter.

heresay is; it infected other birds. Is this correct. IF these birds are allowed at the SE ARk District fair, i will not bring my bird there.

just my 2 cents on fowl pox and or wet pox.... your birds probably already have it... it is almost imposable to keep them from catching it in the south... it can be carried by wild birds and your birds can carry it for years with no symptoms and it will only show its self when your birds get stressed or are already sick with something else... most chickens are at least partially resistant to it and you can breed for this if you want... cull any birds that show bad signs of it and the next generation will be more resistant...

Well said on the fowl pox. I've already vacc. my flock against this. I've seen sick birds at almost all the shows. Its hard to avoid living down here.
