If possible have a separate pen to quarantine new chickens in for a month or so. That way you don't risk infecting your whole flock if you do buy a chicken/chick that is sick.

I live in Pea Ridge and have only seen them at Tractor Supply. I haven't bought any, though.

What breeds do they typically get in?

EEs, Orpingtons, barred rocks, SLW, australorps, polish crested, RIRs, production reds, Cornish cross, speckled Sussex, and that's just off the top of my head.

Wow that is a nice selection. Do you know where they order their stock from?

I don't but got 6 EEs and 4 brown leghorns in late May and they all look great then got 6 more EEs and 2 buff Orpingtons in early September and they are also all healthy.

They had some a couple of weeks ago. You could call them and they would tell you. They are good people there. They get there chicks from Estes Hatchery
