As usual, a buyers market. But I had a pre-arranged sale for one of my roo's: frizzle bantam cochin for $10, silkie went for $12, bantam cochin went for $6. I was pleased with that. Biggest prices went on brown egg layers. Folks there are crazy for them and anything game bird.

They are having a poultry only sale in 2 weeks - April 18th starting at 12:00.

I also learned that the Russellville Co-op has a poultry swap every Saturday in the parking lot. I didn't get any other details but I thought that was a good thing to know.

The best prices here were in brown and green egg layers as long as the chicken wasn't white. White chickens just doesn't bring as much as others.

This last sale the laced Wyandottes went for tge most.

Two weeks I may try to get there and check them out.

I only saw one pair of NN but I missed their sale price.

On an up note, I went to 18 day candl my Broodie eggs and the last one I picked up had a pip and a chirping chick!

Early! I was so excited I just shoved it back under her and forgot to see what kind it was.

I had early hatchers too this time around. They actually started pipping on day 19 but hatched day 20.

I left all through this afternoon. I got a total of 73 that hatched. According to the figures. But I only counted 71. So I have to do a recount.

Good numbers. The girls only have 8 total. I think 4 were quitters so for 4 healthy chicks.
