Found a nice flock of Marans today. There were Black Copper and Splash. My dad went with me (actaully he found then advertised, and had me go with him) to see about them. Thought about buying them but he decided he wanted them himself. I'll wait until he tires of them ( and he will eventually) then I'll get them.

Went also to a local hatcher and found more EE's. Bought me 15 of those.


Will have 25 Top Hat Special from Ideal Poultry that should arive about the 3rd of May. I told my wife (she doesn't care for the chickens) that this was her birthday present sine they will be (should) on her birthday.

Anyone have Araucana's or hatching eggs (not too high) for sell? Looking for some preferably BBR but would consider Golden Duckwing or Silver Duckwing.

I have 12 LF SLW's hatched from my Foley chicks I bought last year. I was planning on getting shipping boxes but they wanted to charge $27 for shipping! So...if anyone in Arkansas wants some great quality SLW chicks please let me know. Here is some pics of the parents. I would really rather not ship them at this point! Thanks! If anyone knows of a place to get shipping boxes that doesn't charge an arm and a leg to ship them to you, please let me know! Happy hatching!

I work in North Little Rock, that is as far as I would go for just 2 chicks.

So happy we finally have decent weather...The kids have now spent almost a day and a half free ranging, and certainly seem to be loving it!! So excited to see them out of the coop!! I had initially planned to wait until they were 8 weeks old, but the weather and the crowding in the coop convinced me to give it a shot. They sure seem happy and are oh so fun to watch!!

Hey! I am good. Just been such nice weather I have been doing yard work. Got some chickens moved around and basic chicken area beautification

You know all this past rain we have had made a few mud holes for me. Made the chickens very unhappy. So I had to get dirt moved. Thank goodness I have an awesome nephew. Put some info out on the other Arkansas thread and a cute video to make you all giggle. I bet those Marans are awesome. We look forward to pics. Bet your Dad is a happy man. Yep I have reduced down to Tolbunts, Black Jersey Giants and Heritage RIRs. Got one young black bantam cochin. I think he was a surprise egg sent to me. But a real sweetie pie. So I will keep him as a pet.

I found myself making scrambled eggs, egg shells and cooked white rice for them the other morning. I forgot to cook the hubby his eggs. Just plain spoiled.......

I think heritage sold those chickens to a guy in Heber Springs. Those were some serious egg laying hens. Just lovely. Take care and I will hollar at you when I get back.
