Arkansas folks speak up.........

Hi everyone,
I am in Rogers, AR. Moving into the beautiful Hobbs State Park area. Anyone around here? I agree with the person who asked question about location, it seems this thread is pretty slow moving lately (I have been lurking mostly)...

Big hardy welcome to the both if you. I'm in central Arkansas, Mabelvale address but in Saline County.

Seems to be that way for me too. I think there is more response if you get on a specific breed thread. I'm mostly on the naked Neck thread, along with mostly following on the Breeding For Production Eggs or Meat Thread. I'm also on the Aloha Chicken thread some. Then I'm on and off this one. I check in on it most every day and respond to any questions and such. This one used to get quite a bit of traffic but has slowed down since its gotten hot, then a lot of traffic has moved to Facebook.

Welcome. Glad to see you here.
Threads been a little slow lately.
Yes, definitely too hot outside.
Too care if a predator problem last night. Now maybe things will pick up.

Hi, I'm in Rogers also. I am just on the west side of hwy12 bridge. We have 12 layers and 3 roosters. If you need a rooster I have 2 more than I need- a beautiful Cochin and a golden duckwing phoenix. My girls are beginning to get "overrode" by the boys. They are both good, gentle Roos. Welcome to the area.

hello all the newbies and the
old.gif
thread regulars. I have been out of the state most of the summer and having a friend do a lot of chicken sitting. I did well enough to arrange that there were no "special" chickens that needed attending to so it was just feed and water. I wasn't gone longer than a week at a stretch so I felt pretty good that even if they missed a day of checking, no one would starve or be out of water.

I am enjoying our few degree cooler weather for the week. Prepping up for our fair that runs the last week of August. Got myself assigned to the job of Poultry Superintendent so now fair will really keep me busy. Luckily another lady and I are actually sharing so it will be much better than doing it alone. Our last one moved out of the county and he had been doing it for years so she and I will stumble through.

After fair, I need to thin out a few Phoenix Roos. I just put an add on BST. My Roo and broodies were busy this spring.
