Clover and Clementine

So cute! Every time I go to the feed store now I just stand around the chicks and marvel at how small they are!

@MrsBachbach
Oh it does! There is ventilation all along the side you can't see & some on the back. The side with no ventilation is the north side. And it's totally in shade 90% of the day once the trees fill in. This will be only for night time really

Ok, so one of our BO's has been sitting in the nesting box for a couple days & doesn't want to come out. Is this what's called going Broody? And if so, what the heck do I do? She is a year old as of May 2? Help!

My test to see if a hen is really broody is that she spends two consecutive nights on the nest instead of in her normal roosting place.

To me you have three options. Give her fertile eggs to hatch, give her some day-old chicks to raise, or break her from being broody. What do you want to do? Let us know and we can give you details.

@Ridgerunner We honestly do not want to have any babies....so how would we break her if being broody? We had to move her to get the eggs she was laying on. She was all puffed up & making weird noises. My Husband put her on the roost with the others. We need to check & see if she stayed up there.

I have 48 more eggs in the incubator. Due to hatch 4/29/17.
Naked Necks and some that will be fully feathered.

Should be very colorful chicks.

20 of the eggs are from my two green egg layers. So if your looking for some colorful eggs to add to your egg basket keep me in mind.
