Countdown to hatch day! My babies are due next Sunday. I've finally created a BYC blog with some pics of what's happening in the Miss Prissy style bator and pics of my big girls.

I've got some Golden Cuckoo Marans in the bator. I candled half and had live chicks. These are my first eggs bought thru the mail. I was so happy about the live chicks. Can't wait.

I bought some eggs through the mail and they are hatching today. I thought I had timed these guys to hatch out yesterday on Easter, but they decided to hang out a day longer in the shell. Out of 14, 10 were developing on day 10. I tossed the infertile 4 then. As of 6pm today 5 had hatched the other 5 all had nice little zippering and they were working on getting out. It was a mixed lot of eggs - 4 bantam splash cochins, 2 buff laced polish, 3 LF cochins, and 1 RIRxBO. In the morning I expect the others will be cheeping under Mom

Oh how precious!

I have got to get some eggs under my broody! Anybody got any cheap mutt eggs for my girl? I just can't take what's in my bator out and put under her. It's her first brood (and my first bator brood) and I want to be sure she's going to behave in a motherly manner.
