Hiya Stillwater and welcome to our little Arkansas corner of BYC!
I've been to Batesville lots and through Walnut Ridge, so I'm sure that I must have seen Smithville too.

We're going to Hot Springs for a week also. We leave Halloween night. I can't wait for my HOT bath. The resort we are staying at has an indoor pool so TJ should have lots of fun.

Im looking forward to it. Im going to the AR Association of Two Year College Convention for work. I have to listen to some boring lectures and then I have the rest of the day off. Paid Vacation!

mzfancichicks, the girls are in there coop and the tarp is on tight! They even have some watermelon to keep them entertained. I just hope they don't end up in Oz. We watched the last tornado tear the high school apart. Its scary that it was only 5 minutes from the house.

And, to make today even better, I had my darn sushi.

I'm the proud mommy of 7 new Barred x Orpinigton chicks, about a week old.

DH's response to the LOUD cheeping coming from the living room: "You're a dead woman!"

I think brooding in the fall will be much easier than in the spring, because as it gets cooler they will have more feathers. Anyway, the new, big coop is almost done so when the youngins move outside they can go into the smaller chicken tractor until they are big.

Congrats Tala!! I just moved my chicks into a brooder that is in a storage room. They are loving it. I hope the heat lamp will provide enough heat. The reading right under it was 100.2 and they have plenty of room to get away from it. Of course it is crazy humid/hot righrt now for October.

Thats Arkansas weather for ya. Congrates on all the new babies! Mabey this late fall I will try to get another hen. It will be several weeks, mabey a month before we build the bigger coop. Eva and Zoii will appreciate it this winter!
