Arkansas folks speak up.........

I got a real kick out of watching the girls try thier darnest to eat the ice inside the coop. I am really enjoying the beautiful green eggs Gladys is laying right now. I am a little worried about Eva (BR) though- she has laid one egg since I got her back in Sept. Right after that she messed her leg up and was on meds for a month. Then we moved coops and she started molting and then we got new chickens- do you think I have just stressed her out? I hope she and Zoii will start to lay soon. And I can't wait to see what color Ginger (22 week EE) will lay! I am expecting her to lay in late March. Ginger is 22 weeks old and still half the size of the other birds. Do ya'll think she is a banty or a late bloomer?

And if ya'll didn't get enough snow and ice, its suppost to get bad again this weekend.

Sounds like a lot of stress for your bird. I bet there's nothing "wrong" with her egglaying system. Maybe she'll get in the laying mood come spring?

No more ice, pluuuuuuuease! I mean, I was all set for some sunny weather! grr

In other news, my 2 Buff Orp cockerels went to a good home today! Instead of going to freezer camp they are gonna get their own flock of Buff Orp ladies!!! Lucky boys!
Their old ladies are moping around and suddenly wanting to be a part of the rest of the flock. 3 of the Buffs used to hang out exclusively, away from the others, but I guess it's just not the same without your "man". They're all gonna get a shake up soon as I merge the youngsters into the adult coop

I didn't get anything done with the banty barn yet, I was hoping to get it ready this weekend. But if its going to be nasty again, it may have to wait again. Went with a friend (jimahall) to help him pick up some coops IN THE RAIN. It didn't bother me at the time, but tonight I just can't get warm.

I hope you got warm. I hate it when I catch a chill like that.

Guess it caught up with me too. Asked my Mom to teach our Sunday School class today. Wife and I both may have a stomach virus. But at least Jen's babies have a new home. Got the rabbit cages moved to the back yard. Looks a little better.

Any youth in Drew County that needs a hutch or cage for your poultry project, let me know. We have had some donated to us just for YOU! Actually, we had so many that we sold some and are ordering a new Genisis incubator for the youth to use! Thanks Jen! Every egg that hatches a chick will be because of your generosity!
