You cant go wrong with a Buckeye. Several of us have them.

Its great that your getting ready. There is so many choices out there. I went thru many different ones before I decieded on the OEGB. Do you want hens for eggs to eat? Good luck on your choices. There are alot of ppl on here to help you get some nice grown birds or even chicks.

Hello Dover! My DGD lives in Dover and I am in Delaware.

I have two black cochin roosters and sure would like to sell at least one of them. Sweet chickens! The girls go broody they say and I am hoping in the spring at least one of my two girls will. Both boys are sweet if you end up being interested in the spring.

My DGD is my chicken partners and loves the chickens. She recently bought herself two EE's and we are looking forward to them starting to lay. It will be fun because they are hers and they will lay blue or green eggs. Our coops and run are built all out of reclaimed materials. An old barn fell down and we used the tin....there were no sides.

Good luck...chicken keeping is an adventure!

I bet she would like to order a bantam assorment from a hatchery or Tractor Supply. Its fun to get different ones and try to guess what they are. If you want really dark eggs, go with the Black Copper Marans. There is a lady on this thread that has some really dark egg layers. Just a beautiful color. Have fun with all the projects. Gena

anybody on here know dennis reynolds? lives outside of springdale, in sonora. little hobby farm, tons of animals, showed chicken s for years. i can't get in touch with him anymore and i got birds from in the past and need to chat with him.
