This
is the link for the K & L Exotic Animal and Bird Auction in Yates Center, Kansas

The sale is April 30th and May 1st

or go to www.kramerlivestockfarm.com

Usually a large auction with anywhere from 350 to 700 lots of poultry and rabbits. This sale will be smaller due to the time of the year, but still expect to get around 400+ lots of birds. Plus all the sheep and goats, mini and exotic cattle, camels, zebras, llamas and alpacas, mini horses and donkeys, and much more. Just check the website for consignments as they are added. Although most poultry will just show up and won't be consigned.

My broody muskovy was killed sometime yesterday.....I opened the night pen around 7:30 yesterday morning to let the other 4 out, and she was happily setting on her nest - we have babies due to hatch in the next week or so. When I came home from work around 5:00, I went to give her a treat - I bring her peas everyday since she is setting....when I got to the pen, I saw eggs all over the floor and hay and feathers everywhere.....I found what was left of her about 100 yards from the pen. I can't imagine what got her. We haven't had any problems with predators, except the occassional hawk or owl around dark. There haven't been any stray dogs around. It was awful. I cleaned up the pen and didn't let the other 4 out this morning. They will be mad - but better mad than dead. I have a female pekin, 1 female mallard, and 2 male mallards - anyone in Arkansas interested? This was too much for me - I didn't just loose a duck, she was my baby and we lost about 25 eggs......If you are interested, I would give them to someone who will take all 4 - they have grown up together (they are 1 year old). We are between DeWitt and Stuttgart.

Taken!

One of my 4H members has went to waterfowl only. He is in Tillar, a few miles south of Dumas. Please call me and I will pass his number to you. He is out of school today. So call me ASAP and I will give you his number. I spoke to him a few minutes ago and he said he will take them all. I think he has water on his brain, but he is crazy for waterfowl. Josh hatches the eggs at the local city park pond and returns the grown ducklings to the park, with city officials blessings. Jenscott hatched the last eggs from the park ducks. Josh ran out of room. This spring he sold all of his chickens and is specializing in waterfowl. He is a real quackpot!

Oops! My number is 870/723-3724. I am Josh's 4H leader. Thus why I know he is a quack!

That is appreciated. I've had over 13" of rain over the last four days, some roof damage and wet carpet, and a private road is washed out that needs serious repair. Compared to what others have gone through, I feel lucky. It is really not that bad right here.

There is a bright side to this story. They were going to load the remaining ducks up and take to my 4H members house Saturday morning. Their chicldfren started crying and asked to keep the ducks. So they are keeping their ducks! We did have a good home, but their current home is best! Glad you are keeping them.

Hey there. I'm not in or from Arkansas, but I've seen the news about what's going on there with your weather. Just wanted y'all to know, you're in our prayers out here in California. The rest of the country has not abandoned you, and we wish all the affected residents and animals a complete recovery from the flooding and severe weather.

Sending good vibes your way!
