Arkansas folks speak up.........

This was a kill trap for a fox. It already had internal bleeding etc and would have suffered all night. It was human to put it down when I did. Next time I will send it Priority Mail to that beautiful sleepy little town of Rhower... so he can run the banks of the Mississippi River and enjoy dinners of Buckeyes and Hollands! What was your mailing address again?

He will be relocated today to a beautiful farm with lots of coon dogs! Thus he did not give his life in vain. He will train the next generation of coon hunting dogs!

Good morning.

It's primary day. If you've studied the candidates so you can make an informed choice about who you want to vote for, go vote. Since a lot less people will vote in the primary than the general election this fall, you vote will count a lot more now.

Sunday I rescued 2 baby coons out of the middle of the gravel road. What have I done??? They look to be about 4 or 5 weeks old and way to little to be away from momma or take care of themselves. I am guessing something happened to mom to make them hungry enough to come out of the nest and be wandering alone. The are eating dog food but are to old and grouchy to make pets.I guess i will call our local Game Warden to see if he knows anywhere they can go.I am sure I will get the same argument I usually do with him saying "well what do you want me to do? You can handle it!" But I have way to many chickens now to take a chance on them getting loose or something this time, because I usually raise "whatever" till it can be released. My grandmother used to call me Ellie May. P.S. Game Warden and his wife are very good and long time close friends!!!!!! Wish me luck everyone?

Not sure where to post this but...Does anyone know where I can find some Wyandottes? We have a few right now and would love to have several more. I would like to find some BLR in particular. I'm in the River Valley, close to Fort Smith, but would be willing to drive (within reason). Can anyone help? Thanks!

Not sure if you're still looking, but Atwood's has some Silver-laced Wyandotte chicks right now (1/2 off, too.)

I woke up this morning to hear barking puppies. Yep, some irresponsible people dumped another litter of dogs at my house. Humane society will not answer phone. Sheriff cannot tell me what to do. Looks like i will get some summertime target practice, before they actually dig in my chicken pens. People that dump animals should be dumped somewhere without food or water just like the animals.

I don't know what your animal shelter is like. Here we can drop off dogs at the Fayetteville Animal Shelter for no charge as long as you are a county resident. They do want to see a driver's license to prove you are a resident.

I've been able to catch and take some dogs dumped out here to the shelter but I've also had to shoot some. I don't enjoy it when I have to do that but you have to do what you have to do to protect your animals.
