Armadillo not recommended for chickens

I wrote the Armadillo folks, and here was their reply:

No, this device cannot be used on chickens - MAFF does not yet recognise this as a method of slaughter. But it's great for game birds like pheasants. There is a video explaining how it works on www.birddispatcher.co.uk

dont understand why you would need that thing for game birds. Usually the game birds I encounter are already shot! no need for killing them.

Do not know why it wouldn't work on a poultry though!
 
Umm...lost here. What's it used for? Chopping off the bird's head? I looked at the video but it's not a video per se...just two clips. What did I do wrong? LOL!
