Around the farm #1 In Photos - Gamebirds and Waterfowl

Oh yeah, isn't that your 1930's chicken barn? Wow, I'm stumped unless you can block her from going under there. Butterfly net or fish net sounds like a plan. Maybe you can get your kids together and herd her into a corner somewhere.

I love the Appleyard ducks. One question, which are messier, ducks or geese?

Hmmmm, very interesting. I have someone who's been offering me geese and I just figured they would be oversized obnoxious ducks. Maybe I'll have to sneak some in somewhere next spring.

I thought I had a way around the duckling messiness problem. When my ducklings arrived, I put them outside in a coop right away instead of brooding them inside the house.

I still was shocked at the messiness. And the stink!!!

But they are so fun and full of personality, it's worth it! I mean, look at MissPrissy's photos, how could you not love ducks?

I am partial to the quail. I have some quail and love to watch them especially after the chicks hatch. It's amazing how they can fly shortly after they hatch. I know that they are't great flyers, and I love to watch the chicks duck down and try to hide in the grass.
