Here are just a few photos from today. The guineas have been escaping since the snow brought down the aviary netting and the chickens were getting antsy, so I let them out to free range today. Oh boy, did they have fun. I raked a nice large section of green grass for them and they had a blast.

Pardon this blurry one from last week, the guineas are frikken FAST!

We chose our main roosters today. The rest will be freezer meat. Here is Master Chief, double blue bands. He has very long legs.

This is our 2nd choice, Captain Oyster, green on right blue on left bands. He's got a large beautiful comb and he's VERY friendly.

And I wonder if I should have posted this under 'Photos and Stories of my chickens'? I didn't know there were new forum names until after I posted this. I've been gone all day. LOL

Actually, I bribed them with donuts and did them a few weeks ago to get a count. I've got 12 cockerels, 17 pullets. They were buggers to catch, but after I banded them and put them down, they went right back to eating their treats.

I plan to butcher the extra roos on Saturday, so the bands will come off then.
