Arrghh!!! Too many chicks?!?!

I love how sooo many posts come down to chicken math. Thanks to my husband our chicken math involves CPC (cost per chicken). Town ordinance says a limit of 12. We decided to start small with 6...only 5 came. But we designed the coop and run for 12. It cost so much to build my DH decided to get 7 more chicks to spread out the cost.

I started with 23 at the beginning of spring...decided to get a new incubator, and now I have 95 between it and the mother hens setting...LOL..and in fact I have 2 hens hatching as we speak....that's chicken math if I ever heard of it.

Okay....What are we going to do with all these chickens??? AND all the chicken eggs.....

My kids tell me I should go on "Chicken Horders" becuase I orinally said I was going to raise meat birds.....and I still intend to, but every new "batch" of chickens...has some kind of "clause" There are the first ones that are "grandfathered" in, the chickens that lays special blue or brown eggs, the first new babies to hatch on site, the one that was sick and I had to nurse...etc..... I have 44 chickens to date and not one of them is a "meat" bird....

and I want an incubator.....*sigh*

Heres my current chicken equation:: 14H(hens) + 2R(roos) = 2B (broodies) and 5P (peeps). In the spring I add 12P from the feed store to the original 16 ( 12P+16). Then to that sum, I add 1I (incubator)+25HE (hatching eggs that DH isnt aware of) and that= ???P(peeps). I ultimately have SNEPS (STILL not enough peeps)!!!!!

Thank goodness Dh quit counting our chickens, cause if he knew how many I actually have, he'd probably make me sleep outside with them....
