, are they on the way soon? Just checking in to see who is on 1st,2nd,and 3rd. PM me please.

We have a week to go for the due date.

I was just reading thru the instructions. Looking at the arrangement, does it matter which direction to sew it together?
You just have to make sure you lay the fabric like in the instructions, after you cut the square on the diagonal

LL

See the picture top right, the fabric shows print on bottom, then white, then print then white on top. and yes measure 2.5 inches down from the corners. other wise you will have to use your seam ripper. the the block goes together like the picture.

Thank you katsdar~I see that now. I don't think I would have noticed that. Now the way it is arranged, after cutting, in the pic, is it sewn in any particular direction? I guess I'm asking if you sew the units on the diagonal, or does it matter how the units are sewn, as long as they are correct? I'm sorry! Am I making it difficult???!!!

Nope your fine,

see the middle block the way they are in strip sets so to speak, that is how I sewed them together, then lined up the seams, then just trim the corners, I laid a ruler along the edge and trimmed. I hope that makes since.

Yeah, I know I made too many blocks. But the cutting sort of leant itself to making groups of four, and I had more fabric than just three sets, so I decided what the heck, I'll just send what I made. If you have enough, you can send me the same number back, or it won't hurt my feelings if you just keep the extra and make a nice quilt for yourself. I've got lots of fabric.

Ok. That's what I was wanting to know. So, just sew them as laid out in the pic. Just wasn't sure about sewing on the diagonal, but I think I have it. After I get one made, I'm sure I will see. Now another question. Does anyone have a good you-tube video or good instructions on getting a good squared edge. I've watched several, but it seems they are all a little different. The biggest confusion for me is which edge do I use to square, the folded or the selvage? Sometimes the selvage is a little wavy. It seems that when I straighten the selvage, the fold is a little off. I would think going with the fold would be better. What do you all think? I had to go get another piece of fabric yesterday. The other piece I was going to use had so much stretch to it, It didn't go back in shape. IDK! It was weird, so that thru me a day behind. I'm going to starch and press my fabric now, then I will be ready to square.

And on the state block swap, I think I'm going to sit this one out, katsdar. I have so much to get caught up on. I would like to get some of these tops put together, plus, I need to get my 2 nephews quilts made. I've determined that after this week, I'm going to do some major cleaning out of cabinets and closets to get rid of A LOT of stuff!! And I still have canning to do. I will be keeping up with all of you though!!!
