Nope.:hmm I'm not really the artist type.
You did so great though! I highly believe art is a skill. Maybe I will come to posting some of my previous art works I did when I was your age. That is, if I can find it.

I was never an artist either. It all started 2 years ago. I used to look at other artists in my class and LOVE their work but know I could never do it, but practice really makes perfect! And although I know my art is not perfect, I continue to find time to practice.

Agreed. The artist that is naturally good makes up only about five percent. You should see how much my skill improved from three years of just practicing like once a week because I loved drawing. The key is to let yourself fail. Like my sketchbook right now. Definitely not the best work.

Y'all remember the MLP challenge we had the second week?
Well I just found my first ever OC- drawn back in 2012! :D

Yes! My sketchbook was a mess back then!

I even went to art class many, MANY, years ago, but I never really got better until I found passion in art. Going to class weekly became a chore, not a passion. When I quit, it did also take me some time to get back into art again. I do not believe I would have improved if I stayed in the class either.

Like Amer said, its fun! When joy and love for art is what drives you, you go a lot farther.

I always thought that about myself. I hated art. But the fact was, I didn't. I just hated the type of art I was doing. My school forced me into a intense art class, it was mandatory. This was 4th-6th grace I hated it. We didn't get to be creative, and I hated it so much I would make up excuses to get out of it. The only class I've ever done bad in.

I then started water color on October 22nd 2020. I remember the date because it was the day after my Poshy died. I was so heartbroken and I needed an outlet, something to explode and just let my feelings pour into. Art just allowed my to move my brush, no matter how clouded with tears my eyes were, and just- paint.

And ever since I've began several different mediums; water color, acrylic, pencil, scratch art, digital art, enamel, metal working, glass blowing, clay sculpting, ceramics, lapidary, jewelry, and so many more. The options are endless, and that's what's so incredible about it. I don't actually do art all that often, just a few paintings or a few sketches here and there, but even so with such minimal practice and commitment I've still won multiple art contests, gained several commisions, and started a few businesses around my art. The options are literally endless. You just have to be willing to jump in and give it a shot, don't pressure yourself to make something beautiful, just make something you enjoy creating. It's all about the process. If you don't like the process the result is meaningless.

And it's okay to not like certain mediums or forms, you just haven't found something you've clicked with, and that's okay.
