Why must drawing faces be so difficult? They were hard enough with lineart, but without it, ugh. :th

Some one else I know who does lineless faces, starts with line work to mark the outline of the face, shadows and lines and what not, and then colors over it with shading. She turns the line art (it's more like estimated lines) layer on and off as she goes.

That’s similar to what I do. I’m just really bad at doing tiny details, and no matter what I try I can never get the placement right. :/
Do you know if this person makes tutorials?

She doesnt. She mostly writes and is a beginner herself. It's CDupre on deviant art.
 
Another Buckeye. I decided to try it the "no line art" way and I like how it's going, but I can't seem to get her face to "come alive." Any tricks?
