Don't remember if I showed you guys my dancing girl before.... But here is her fake smiling. With the same kind of coloring sort of, as I did earlier.

I need to work on it to get the amount of layers I'm using down, but I like how it's turning out which is more than I can say for any of the other coloring I've been doing.

^u^ Thanke, she was one of my random draws a long while ago, made between Annie, and Kipp. This is only the second time I've made her, because I couldn't figure out how to color her. She's not caucasian and I really had a hard time making her look it.

The beak open/expression was intentional, but the overall face isn't the best.

Shorten the beak and comb. You’d be surprised by how much that will affect her.
I’m impressed by the tail and butt area. That took me a long time to get right.
While a Cubalaya may have a more exaggeratedly short beak and head, you can see that less is more. While you may think that a larger head and eyes would be more attractive, like kittens and baby chickies, it often makes chickens disproportionate and odd looking.

I was able to draw pretty good heads before, but then I didn't practice for months.

It's kind of a rough scribble. But I've been messing around with color and shading today. I kind of like how it turned out even though it was just supposed to be free scribble time to learn new things. I think I'm going to try some of the new things out again on another picture and see if I still like it.
