cool, what brush are you using for the line art? It makes it look like it's drawn in chalk.

If he lives in a library...
Like he has a brown-paper book bag in his hand in the picture, but the fishing thing wasn't in the char description. Neither was the Dad thing.
Also, I don't think wrinkles would work, but the shadow sounds good. He just has too big eyes to be properly aged.

A white-ish hat that has some stains on it, with a black beak. might work
