I would feel mean giving them a bad rating if I knew they could see it
I think it should be anonymous.
But Ravyn does make good points and I agree. When I first joined the site at like 14 or 15 I apparently made an article but I only discovered it when they moved the site. I apparently had 2, both complete gibberish, not real content, kind of just like a note or something or like I was trying to make a post? Idk. One was about my dog I think. My point is I didn't even know I made them and it's certainly not content (is it possible to delete?) So yes, I think there should be some sort of review process. Of course, we don't want censorship either so it's a dilemma. But something to prevent new users or 14 year olds from accidentally making articles lol
Same for reviews. I had no idea people reviewed without owning the breed ravyn. What is the point of that? How can you rate something if you have never had experience with the breed before? That's just stupid, no offense...
Anyway, I know some people say they will rate anyway or point out if it's incorrect but that brings up a good point... I think there is a polite way to point out misinformation (that maybe they don't even know is wrong) or say you don't like the article.... by commenting on said article with opinions or corrections or private messaging the user. I think that just giving a negative rating, especially one they can see, is kind of mean but at the very least just doesn't really serve any purpose. Like I said, they might not know that it's wrong or why you gave a bad review, so by commenting or messaging what's wrong rather than only leaving a review, you can give some constructive criticism and feedback at the same time. Just stars don't really mean much.
And I personally would be wondering why exactly they gave it a bad review.
So I think anonymous is best.
Either they don't see the ratings at all (that doesn't really serve a purpose or help them though) or they can only see the ratings and not WHO left them...
