Articular gout

I'll have to do some searching, and yet may not come up with anything. I take my advice from a section regarding oxidation of feed in the book written by Harvey Ussery. He quotes a poultry feed nutritionist regarding the 6 week issue. I find myself having increasing difficulty accessing fresh feed, even from my favored feed store. I am depending on the fact that my feed is kept super cold right now, which would act to help prevent oxidation of the nutrients.

Thank you, that is helpful.

Before asking, I did find myself wondering what impact storage conditions had on this effect. I guess part of the reason I was looking for detailed studies. So maybe I will also take in to consideration which feed store seems to have the better storage conditions.

I wonder if it's a seasonal thing having farther past mill dates..

It may be, b/c the last few purchases from the best store in my area have been older than I want. I will have to go back to asking the employees to tell me the mill date before I hand over my credit card. I hate to come across as a jerk at the purchase counter, but... I'd rather be perceived as a jerk and get feed which is actually beneficial to my flock, than buy crap.

I always check mill dates, and my local feed stores have been good in stocking fresh Flock Raiser, at least. Some of the other feeds, not so much, and I feel for the birds fed by owners who don't know about this. Like me, years ago...
