I've probably seen one, but just never knew what it was called!

I've probably seen one, but just never knew what it was called!

Its a tightly rolled up piece of paper, that you use to shade, and smudge. Usually, its called a smudging stick.

Ohyes! You hold it with your right or left hand (i'm righty) and start and the outline of the drawing. Use graphite sticks to rub the tortillon's point. Start out dark when the outline is and slowly use less tension to make some spots lighter or darker.
