Aspirin Dosage!!

How much and how often can I give aspirin?
The dosage according to poultry dvm.com is every 12 hours at 12.5 mg for a 2.5kg chicken (5.5lbs). If however you think there will be a need to escalate the patient to veterinary care level, be aware that aspirin can delay the administration of another NSAID such as Meloxicam.

However, in chicken species, aspirin has a very short half-life of 12.6 minutes (aavac.com.au).

And importantly--never give aspirin if your bird has liver or kidney issues, or if there are visible signs of bleeding--chicken blood volume is quite small and they don't have much to lose, and since aspirin is a blood thinner, it will increase blood loss rate significantly.
