It's because you need to get the example item correct before starting the test, that being the "tough" one. Select the option that is most opposite, not just any apparently-plausible option.

Some people do worse on antonyms than on more traditional vocab item types, maybe because of the additional precision that antonym items seem to often require. Definitely one of the best item types with all things considered IMO.
