General mental ability predicts life success. Sure, it isn't the only predictor, but it is a strong predictor nonetheless. And no, it isn't only predictive in the low range. If you were familiar with the field, and not limited by preconceived notions (which are clearly false), you'd come to the same conclusion, as would anyone with a modicum of understanding. Disparaging researchers while concomitantly lacking even a rudimentary understanding of their fields doesn't strike me as a very wise thing to do.

It's actually down to incompetent/irrelevant teachers or uncooperative students--maybe a little bit of both. It's very, very seldom caused by immutable biological traits. These things (for the vast majority of human beings) are the results of gaps in education--whether because of inadequate curriculum, bad teaching or uncooperative students.

A lot of them can be taught those things, yes, but the speed at which they learn them will depend on their innate level of g.

No, if anything, public schools tend to treat everyone who isn't intellectually disabled as having a similar level of g, and their doing so is quite damaging to a decent number of individuals.
