This duckling was not making any progress, so I decided to help. Note the color of the membrane and the absence of any blood or veins. The key is to go slow, take very small pieces of shell off and to stop immediately if you see blood.

June 9, 2020 - This is one I dropped about five days ago. I could tell by the discoloration of the shell that it was ready to hatch.

They're usually malpositioned.

Some might have been, but most were from different hens.
