I got an assorted rainbow layer from orschelns today and I need help figuring out what kind of chicken she is. She's a coppery red color with chipmunk markings.

So was it wrong of them to label her as an "assorted rainbow layer"?

I would think a bin labelled "Rainbow Layers" means you could pull pretty much any breed. It's usually a term for an assortment of different pure bred pullets that will lay either brown, cream, white, blue or green. The label can cover literally any breed, but most hatcheries don't use ornamental breeds, more dual purpose/heavy breeds and Mediterranean breeds.
