if they are hens or roosters I think. 3 of them have bright pink combs started on their heads, the other 3 have either no comb started or a light (almost white) tiny one. Also two of my chicks that look like rooster chicks have started fighting. If it keeps going on I'll have to seperate them. I've never had chicks this young begin fighting this badly. I do not have pictures but feathers and fluff were pulled out during the fight. Anyone have experience with this kind of issues?
I'm conflicted on keeping a chick that young by it's self. I have 6 and would like to keep them as a group until at least 4 weeks old. *sigh* I don't want to cull anyone because roosters are going to be put in large cages (dog crates) and kept til adult for food. These are wire dog crates and big wire cages so that they'd be on the grass and moved around to eat bugs just unable to fight.
