AT&T to buy out T-Mobile...are you kidding me?

You will need to read the fine print on the contract about early termination. When I had Sprint about Year and half ago it turned out my termination fee was an older one and it was not pro rated. Most contracts are pro rated so the fee reduces the longer you stay on contract. I had no issues with Sprint as a provider but at the time no iPhone so when I could I switched and moved to AT&T and I use my iPhone for more than just calls so I am happy with it.

I still have the same contract amd plan with Verizon that I had had with Alltel for several years. They haven't contacted me to say I have to change it or upgrade it. I suppose at some point that could happen, but so far nothing has changed and it's been over a year.

If I wanted AT&T, I would have BEEN WITH AT&T from the start. I like T-Mobile. I am sick of not having any real choices any more as a consumer. Because eventually it will all be one entity. Just like the utilities....you have no choice. Electric is National Grid, natural gas is National Grid, cell phones will eventually be National grid.....no choice, so a monopoly is clear for take off.

And yes, the world, as a consumer, is coming to an end. Its, very much, something to get upset about because the major corporations will all merge into one, there will be only one choice and we will have to pay out the a** or do without. How is that fair? What ever happened to ANTI-TRUST laws? After Microsoft, did they just forget about it? Oh, yes, they did......this is why we are in a financial crisis!

Can I get a witness?!!!!! hear me preach!

If this is all you've got to be this upset about then you are indeed a very lucky person.

You must be fairly young if you think At&T being a monopoly is a new thing.....they were a monopoly from about 1899 when they bought out American Bell until 1975 when the FCC introduced competition, it wasn't until about 1982 that the Ma Bell monopoly was actually broken up.

Today, you still have way more choices in the telephone industry then you use to. Right now, there really is no one telephone company with a true monopoly on service......you still have choices!

The whole world will be owned by Taco Bell in the future.

I have had unlimited with Sprint for years and we use it for EVERYTHING with no problems.. Even tethering.. did your hubby have SERO? That might have been the problem. We even use a slingbox and other video heavy apps.

I love sprint - everytime I price out verizon or AT&T with unlimited texting/internet and two phones it's almost double the price. No Iphone, but I love my android phone so it's ok with me.

Verizon is the only service that gets good connections in our area. It's ridiculous what it costs.

I have a pay as you go phone with T-mobile and they have the best plan. All you do is pay for minutes they use and use them before the year ends. You can add as little as $5 at a time. I don't use my phone much, so I often only spend about $15 a year on it. Most other pay as you go plans make you add money every month or two. So, if they change the T-mobile to go plan, I may have to go without a cell phone until I find work.
