I went out to check on the chickens today and one of my Barnevelder roos was on top of my tiniest Barnie pullet (She's only about a third of the size of the roo). They were hatched out of the same clutch on April 16, so they are only a little over two months old. Was he actually trying to mate with her, or was it a show of domination over the "weakest" chicken in the flock?
I caught another roo on top of her this evening, so I separated her from the rest of the flock, trying to keep her safe.
