i've had a bag of corn in my shop for a while (uncracked), i'd estimate around 2-3 months. this bag has a hole in the bottom, so corn is spilling out. when I went out there the other day, though, there were bugs I had never seen before EVERYWHERE in it (though they may have been in there before then, I don't pay much attention). i'm talking it looks like when maggots get ahold of something dead- I could HEAR them scurrying around in the bag. a few days later (today) I Google it and they're granary weevils. I also have chickens (obviously), so I was wondering if I could take some to the bag and let them eat the weevils? and there's some 'babies' out there too (8 weeks), are they allowed some as well?
I'd also like to note that this infested corn bag is DIRECTLY beside my chicken food, which is untouched. I find it kind of odd.
