I'm going to start hatching eggs after the chicks get older and i know for sure who's a boy and who's a girl I'm going to give the boys away and was wondering when they start crowing and when they start will their feathering make it easy to tell whos a boy and who's a girl

If you get sex link eggs, you can tell when they're feathers are dry after they've hatched. My Ameraucana chicks I have now haven't crowed yet at 6 weeks old but they're roo feathers are coming in all nice and shiny so it's pretty easy to tell them apart now. I've seen chicks crow as early as 3 weeks old and some not crow until they're almost 5 mths old....some chickens you can tell by how fast they feather in, some you can tell by how fast their combs come in....alllll depends on what you get for chicks...
