I bought eggs from a breeder and only three were fertile. Well only the "Cuckoo" and the splash hatched. The buff did not.

Blue cuckoos are as obvious as black cuckoos. If you don't see striping on the feathers, it is not there. You say the birds in the pen were blue, black, splash and cuckoo? Which colour was the cock? You may have a very light blue or a splash--splashing sometimes does not develop for a very long time, other times it is present as soon as they grow feathers.

If both parents carry lavender, you could get lavender offspring, but unless you know they are carriers, don't expect it to occur.

As I said, if both parents are carrying it, it is possible. But don't expect that to occur. Chances of the birds carrying lavender depends partially on whose lines they are from, and whether any background lavender/self-blue breeding was being worked on.

Was the cuckoo a hen or the cock? If a hen, then only her sons will inherit the barring. If a cock, then all the offspring will inherit if he carries two copies, half (irrespective of gender) if he carries one copy.

Can you try to post a photo of your birds.
