At what temp. should you use heat lamp in coop for adult hens?

I guess it depends on your chickens. My favorite rooster died when the cold was in the upper 20s. He was inside the barn with my goats and his other chicken friends. After that, I start using a heat lamp and putting all my chickens in a coop if it was below 30. He was a one-year-old Old English breed chicken.

I saw a KUWTK and they brought their chickens in the house when it went to 40 degrees they pooped every where, then got rid of the chickens. Ha-ha, I just laughed. Of course chickens can withstand a lot of low temps, but if it was under 0 I would bring in a heat lamp secured with clamps and so the hens could not knock it down.
