I want to know because my hen keeps switching nesting spots and would like to follow her at specific time or the eggs will rot or she will go broody in an unsafe place I have made her a nesting box and it looks like she uses it but dose not soil it nor do she lay eggs she is an old english game bantam that lays every three days obviously I cant wake up at 4am and follower her for 4 days until 11:30am (CUT TO THE CHASE)

(((supposedly they lay there eggs between 6 up to 11:30 that what I've been told and seen on the web)))

. I don't have chickens but all of my waterfowl lay early in the morning.

My hens lay their eggs when they are ready. morning or night. they dont have a specific time to lay their eggs. they average almost 10:30 in the morning. But some came later around 4 pm.

I have over 60+ birds. They lay at different times of the day. Mostly in the morning and late evening.
This all depends on the weather. If it is hot, they only lay during cool hours. If it is cold, they like to lay during mid-day.
