white history month (and straight pride month) are literally every month OTHER than the one that's being singled out

And the history that's taught during Black history month and LGBTQIA are more so centered around how these communities overcame and are overcoming barriers, which, don't get me wrong is great, but there needs to be discussions in the schools about WHO placed the barriers, why and why it is taking so long to remove them. To not do so is ignoring the many crimes straight Caucasian (usually males) have committed against humanity.

Sure, let's talk about Martin Luther King Jr. Let's also talk about Tuskegee.

Great, let's talk about marriage equality. Let's also talk about Stonewall Riots.

There needs to be more emphasis on what systemic oppression was overcome, not just that it has been in some cases, though there is still so much to do.
