Daren smiled at Julie as she dug her claws into his skin. Then, he floated through her like a shadow, but he still had a mark on his neck from her nails. He stopped when he reached the end of the force field. Then, he turned back at her, his eyes almost as black as his hair. 

Julie's eyes remained emotionless as she turned her piercing eyes to Riley.

Anger bubbling up even greater than before, Shleya stabbed the the force field with her dagger trying to evaporate some of the hard, cold hate. She wasn't turning into Daren. She would never be like him. She cared, had feelings and acted upon them. This feeling, this feeling of hate was directed towards Daren...
