Atomic Powers [Part 2]

He approached the entrance of the subway station and then sat on a bench with his jet black hood over his dark hair that covered his eyes as he looked towards the floor at his watch. It was 7:30, he was just on time, like always. Vigilantly he looked around, only moving his eyes.

Faith flipped through the pictures of the aesthetic pictures of flowers. Then, the doctor called her name and she put the book down on the wooden maple counter in front of herself. Alacrity filled her insides and she walked towards the doctor who's milky brown hair was in a tight bun. She smiled at the benign looking doctor who brought her into a room with another man inside. "I told you, we can't do anything for you I'm sorry, but you have to leave, now." The doctor said strictly as she folded her arms. Faith could tell the man was cantankerous once he brusquely spit on the floor in anger and stomped his way out of the room. The doctor sighed, "I'm sorry but would you please stay here for a moment." Faith sat in the room alone after the door was closed behind her. She looked at the celestial looking picture with an angel flying in the sky holding a beautiful gold harp with rays of light shining from behind it. However, the glass was cracked. She noticed a clandestine key hiding in the corner of the frame. She stared at the door wondering when it would open, however she had to take her chances. Vastly scooting the chair towards the picture frame that hung on the wall she used the rubber seat of the chair to stand on in order to reach for the picture frame. She took it off from a tack that was pinned in the wall to hang the picture by a string. After the picture was disassembled and all that was left in her hands was the empty frame she picked up the key and held it to the light in the room making it glisten.

((Oh... My... Gosh... Were you reading my thoughts??? Total mind meld there.))

Sabine shut the book with a dull thud. She sighed and put it back on the shelf, pulling out yet another. "Come on. There has to be SOMETHING in here." she muttered to herself. She had been searching books about crimes for several days now. She read on in the dim light, "Five minutes till closing time." the librarian said, startling Sabine, "Have you found what you're looking for?" Sabine shut the book and started grabbing several more off the shelf. "No, not yet. Is it okay if I borrow these?" she asked with a kind smile. The librarian's tired eyes looked up at her, "As long as you bring them back." Sabine put the volumes in her bookbag, said a "thank you", and walked out of the street corner library into the dark street. A chill rushed down her spine, but that was just from the cold. Wasn't it?
