Attaching Hardware Cloth / Fencing to Structure

We used 1/4" 1" long staples and used our finish nailer to attach the hardware cloth to the 2x4's our run was framed with. We hung our hardware cloth from top to bottom because we covered the entire run with it. We then used 1x2's over the seams and nailed them on with the nail gun every 2 feet. We buried 12" of hardware cloth and secured it by putting quickcrete around the bottom and the covered it with dirt. on top we used white plastic 1" lattice.

Chucken, that sounds really nice. Maybe some day when we have a little more time / money to put toward it we can do that. I've been trying to convince my husband that we should nail / screw a strip of wood over the edges, he doesn't seem to be sold yet. I think it would look nicer, but first and foremost I think it would be safer for our little ones. We've got 3 y/o and 10 month little girls and I don't want them catching any of those edges, they are vicious! (The edges, I mean, not the girls, although our 3 y/o can get pretty vicious when she's in the mood.

Daydrinker, that is AWESOME and if we hadn't already bought washers I would totally do that!
