mine is 6 x12 also. 6 hens, i hear that's enough room. i don't want the added expense of going all the way up. also more work and i can't see reason for any above the grab zone.

garye5007 Do you let yours free range as well? Just curious because mine wont have that option.

they are still younguns now (3 weeks)_ It kinda depends on if the neighbors dog will behave...my dog doesn't roam free i hope they can keep theirs under control. i hope to let them out from time to time.
here's kinda a dumb question... how far will chickens generally range from the coop?
