Congratulations!Hello y'all. I'm also new to the forum. In fact, I got on yesterday as I was waiting for my first incubated eggs to start pipping. Three pipped yesterday, and about 2:30am, the first broke out successfully. I couldn't believe all the activity that was going on. Then about 5:30am the second made it's way out. Then between the two of them, they were climbing around and over the other eggs. "Don't roll the eggs," they say! The third just came out, but the other two were so huddled around it and almost over it, that I wondered if it would survive. But it seems the chicks don't stay in one place for long, and moved on, letting the newest finally shed the bottom of the shell. Now the other 9 haven't pipped at all yet. I have to say with the brown eggs, it was awfully hard to tell if there was a viable chick inside. I thought the whole dozen looked "possible" so I suppose we'll see. I had to take some pictures for my grandson, since this was supposed to be his endeavor. He'll be disappointed not to have been here for the grand entrances!

You are always so helpful @Debbie292d. Thank youHiya, and welcome to BYC!
One idea is to go through this older thread about the breed and see if anyone who raises them is still around BYC. There's links in there too I didn't go further with. You could also post to ask in our Chicken Breeders & Hatcheries forum. I'd also try your local poultry groups on Facebook and ask there.
We're glad you're here!
