Attaching Hardware Cloth to ?

Three things, work and you can combine them-
fence staples
batten and screws
baby hog nose rings to join panels.

You could put sand over the hardware cloth in the run, would drain well...you must have had some gophers or moles in the former one!

We stapled our to the wooden frame along the bottom. It's worked fine so far.

I wasn't sure if anyone had a reason why we'd want to extend it out - but it sounds like by us covering the ENTIRE bottom that we don't need to go beyond the perimeter, so stapling to the wood frame should work pretty well in this situation.

My poor peeps have been "cooped up" (pardon the pun

) in tight quarters since the move, so I can only hope for a break in the bad weather so we can get their new home ready ASAP. Seems we are having one of the wettest Winter's EVER. Every week it seems we are getting a new Winter storm or plain ole rain! Waaaa

I wanna get my peeps into a bigger space as they are starting to peck at each other now

With the coat-hanger staples mentioned earlier you could pin the HC against the ground fairly tightly and the grass should grow through soon enough so that you could mow over it. I dunno...I like the idea of the chickens being able to scatch down into the dirt to make themselves some dust dowls and cooling bowls.

Best wishes,
Ed
