Aliciana’s pen poised above the paper her mother had given her for the last burning ceremony, she couldn’t get the words in her head to spill out onto the paper. She envied the way Marialle was able to do that. She never could, Marialle was Aliciana’s best friend who was full of fire but she could write amazingly too and Aliciana longed to be an author like her. “Aliciana mum said you have to come down for breakfast” Calinatia cried, she dragged herself down the stairs. Today was Erivita’s anniversary and it was customary that everyone attended for the celebrations that night and the fireworks that would light up the night sky. Aliciana took a seat at the small table, rubbing her eyes to get rid of the sleep. Calinatia skipped down the stairs in her dress that trailed the ground, “morning” she said brightly

”what’s got you in such a good mood?” Aliciana grumbled, “oh. Nothing” Calinatia grinned, “ok spill. What are you so happy about?” She said grouchily, “nobody it’s fine” Calinatia sighed sitting down. Aliciana had always lived in her sisters shadow, Calinatia had beautiful eyes, the type of eyes you can get lost in. They were blue, green and silver, Aliciana sighed. She liked her sister but sometimes she could really really annoy her. She finished her breakfast and tracked up the stairs to her room. The dress she put on was beautiful, it was a long floral patterned dress. She loved this dress, Aliciana also proceeded to put her silver and blue hair up into a bun. “Aliciana Marialle is here” her mother’s voice floated up the stairs, “coming” she ran down the stairs. Her best friend also looked beautiful “wow Mari you look gorgeous” Aliciana gasped. Marialle laughed linking her arm through Aliciana’s “you too Alici. Let’s go.” The two girls set off towards the town square
