Well, she SHOULD be at prelim...but she keeps starting over with new horses so she is currently competing in Novice. She has promised me that she is going to stick with her mare for a while. *sigh* Children.....so fickle.

Novice is good, prelim is scary, lol.

Has anyone here ever been involved with Pony Club?

Yes, I did Pony Club when I was 10-12 (back in the 70's, LOL) and also was a Horse Management Judge for rallies and ratings in the 90's and 2000's. I still do most things the Pony Club way. It's a great organization.

Here is RJ, a 7-year-old 13 hand pony that I bred, competing at Novice Level in 1987. I was going to bump him up to Training Level, but sold him instead.

I sold him to a family with three girls, so I figured he would have a good life, but they all lost interest in him. For many years he had a lovely stall with daily turnout at the Pebble Beach Equestrian Center, and whenever I was in the area I would stop by and visit him. Then in 2001, instead of stopping by, I called the center to check on him and they told me he had been moved to a different farm and that the new owners were looking to give him away, so I called them and made arrangements to pick him up.

Here we are in 2002 at the Fresno County Horse Park (formerly known as Ram Tap) competing at the Beginner Novice Level. He was 22 in this photo:

RJ was a once in a lifetime pony, I miss him.

I'm so glad that you got him back! I know of several situations where a horse was sold or given to a family with a buy back clause only to find out later that the horse was sold or given away without notice.

As for RJ, he looks absolutely adorable! He looks a lot like a pony that we bought for my daughter. His name was Gus Gus...like the fat little mouse from Cinderella. I have two daughters who both started riding horses when they were 5 yrs old. My oldest (the one in the previous pictures) has stayed with it. It is literally all she cares about in life.... That passion was also a blessing when she became an unruly teenager! ha ha... She could care LESS if I grounded her, took away her phone, etc....but if she was grounded from her horses, the world was OVER! Conversely, my youngest daughter is much like the girls who bought RJ. She loved riding when she was younger, but now that she is 16...I have to cajole, beg, and threaten to get her to go outside to even brush her horse. She is too caught up in her social life and other interests to give much notice to her horses.

Altogether, we have 4 horses. Two elderly mares that stay here at our farm. And then my oldest daughter's mare and our gelding who are both boarded at the trainer's show barn.

Hello! I don’t have a full body picture of my horse because I barely got him not too long ago. This is my quarter horse Ringo. As you can see in the pictures he had a half a blue eye.
