Here is RJ, a 7-year-old 13 hand pony that I bred, competing at Novice Level in 1987. I was going to bump him up to Training Level, but sold him instead.

I sold him to a family with three girls, so I figured he would have a good life, but they all lost interest in him. For many years he had a lovely stall with daily turnout at the Pebble Beach Equestrian Center, and whenever I was in the area I would stop by and visit him. Then in 2001, instead of stopping by, I called the center to check on him and they told me he had been moved to a different farm and that the new owners were looking to give him away, so I called them and made arrangements to pick him up.

Fresno County Horse Park (formerly known as Ram Tap) competing at the Beginner Novice Level. He was 22 in this photo:
