Nice! What kind of horse breeds do you manage & compete with?

I was raised as a guinea pig of a child and we took lessons / broke Connemara ponies for Gorden Wright and his breeding partner. Lots of fun, doing old Calvary tests jumping and such. We were such country bumpkins in NC in the 60s. Later evolved into becoming a groom for top hunter / jumper / TB racetrack horses, when everything started getting into Warmbloods (never liked them as much as American TBs). I shoveled a lot of horse manure, spit shined a lot of horses for shows, buyers of racing stock in KY and later had my own h/j barn for US Pony Club type kids to have fun, although we had our share of fancy diamonds in the rough we found. I had a WC Appaloosa I found accidentally that ended up winning Yr End Reserve Training Level Dressage US Dressage Federation after I sold him. Worked w a lot of good AQHAs, APHAs and just good horses in FL with some TB layups while racing in endurance from 1992 - 2010. Haven’t really been as active since formally retiring from breaking my neck, back, both shoulders. I’d do it all over again in a heartbeat. “Just an old groom, who got lucky and medaled in endurance w crazy Arabians.”

My first horses were Arabians, not the crazy ones. Loved them! One reason why I did Trakehners; most Arabian and TB blood up close, great inspection program, nice horses.
Not riding any more; the ground gets harder every year!
Nice old steady eddie mare is gone, so just not interested in riding again. And raising foals was more fun anyway.

Hi everyone! Do any of you have good pictures of your horse being shown in a halter class?

I need a few good pictures to do a graphic for the contest.

Sorry I don't even have a horse. I could get you a picture of a cow though lmao.

I can relate to you. Bought my 1st Appaloosa pony with my own hard earnings at 6 years old & been hooked ever since. Youth run wild, got into all sorts or trouble, caused ruckus & grew up surrounded by fancy pant kids whose parents could afford to buy them better horses & pay someone else like me to train & care for them. I worked as a groomer a couple years ago for some high class hunter jumper trainers as well & had my own little fun picking $#!+ up. Being a groomer is by no means a reliable job, especially when/if you're treated & paid poorly. Mad hats off to you, sir.
